Peach, banana flambe, plums, and grilled pineapple are among the flavors I detected, along with mid-palate spices including black pepper, cloves, anise, cinnamon, and baking spices, and a potent dose of alcohol. As the flavors dissipate, the pepper lingers while the oak tannins shine through in a lengthy, satisfying finish.
